Protests across US universities escalate

Student protests over the conflict in Gaza continue to escalate across US universities.

The protests have two core aims – urging universities to cut financial ties with Israel and for the US to cease weapons supply for Israel.

Footage shows the mostly pro-Palestine protests growing in number and becoming more volatile amid heavy police presence.

Whilst ordered by the police to leave, a strong core of protesters remain.

The US authorities believe the way to break up these protests is through force.
