An Australian aid worker is among five employees from the World Central Kitchen (WCK) non-governmental organisation killed in an Israeli airstrike, the Gaza government media office said on Monday.
As well as the Australian, those killed in the incident in central Gaza's Deir al-Balah included citizens of Poland and Britain, as well as one Palestinian, a spokesman for the media office said.
The Associated Press wire agency, citing the Palestinian Red Crescent Association, reported the workers' car was hit by an Israeli strike just after crossing from northern Gaza after helping deliver aid that had arrived hours earlier on a ship from Cyprus.
