During his visit to the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, where much of the international relief for Gaza is stockpiled, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. He also urged Israel to allow more aid and to halt its proposed ground offensive in Rafah, where thousands of Palestinians have taken shelter.
