The North Korean military may seem large, over 7 million boys and girls in arms service, ready to defend the nation, but it's not really strong, at least not without their nukes. They are an army of unwillingly conscripted, being led by the aristocrats of North Korea living like kings, and whose competency is questionable as like in Stalin’s Russia, promotions on the higher ranks are based on loyalty to the standing leader. Oh, and I haven’t even been to the hard factors yet, such as the tanks, the jets, the kit and the guns and etc. Basically the materials that you need to run a military, and their stuff is made out of vintage relics from the cold war. Their weapons is no match to the South Koreans. without nukes, South Korea alone would defeat the North, with no US needed. Also they have no reliable means of delivering any of their nuclear devices to any meaningful military target, and so, their only utility would be as terror weapons threatening civilian populations in South Korea or Japan. One thing that’s worth mentioning here is that no one in North Korea’s military today has any combat experience, and the last time it was involved in a combat was 72 years ago.
