So according to the leaks, the AI in these cameras stand for actually Indians. Cuz instead of deep learning models watching you, it's 1000 Indians. Apparently they watch what you pick up, put back, and walk out the store with. And at first this makes sense because it's so much cheaper to hire Indians than Americans or Britons.
But that's not why Amazon has 1,000 Indians.
You see, this isn't uncommon in AI. ChatGPT was trained on tens of thousands of Kenyans. In Amazon's case, the workers are probably reviewing some footage. But they're probably looking at edge cases like when people try to steal stuff. This gives the AI more data to automate more and more scenarios.
