Israel is ready to retaliate after Iran fired over 300 missiles and drones at Jerusalem on Saturday.
The operation by Israel is intended to send a clear message it will not accept being attacked without a response.
Israel’s Channel 12 news said the country “will not allow an attack of that magnitude against it to pass without a reaction”.
Iran’s Saturday attack on Israel did minimal damage to the country as nearly all strikes were intercepted by Israel and its allies.
Tehran, Iran’s capital city, attacked Israel after the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) struck a Damascus embassy consular annex on April 1, killing 16 people.
