Myanmar border town falls to rebel group sparking exodus | Imminent Iranian attack on Israel concern

The security situation in Myanmar is growing more precarious as the country's military confirmed it has withdrawn from the strategic border town of Myawaddy. The ethnic rebel group, the Karen National Union, or the KNU, says it has taken control of the area. Thousands of locals are fleeing the region to escape possible aerial bombardment.

Australia and other western countries have joined to urge Iran to exercise restraint and prevent escalation of regional conflict amid warnings that an Iranian attack on Israel could be imminent. Israel says it's ready to respond, after Tehran's threats of reprisals over last week's airstrike in Syria killed two Iranian generals.
