A statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says they are ‘urgently’ seeking to confirm reports that an Australian aid worker has been killed in an air strike on Gaza.

It comes as a passport found in the rubble during the aftermath of the strike was reportedly identified as that of an Australian citizen.

The strike is thought to have impacted many workers from an aid group called World Central Kitchen.

The group has been working in Gaza aiding with the delivery of food.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has also responded to the reports saying he is ‘very concerned about the loss of life that is occurring in Gaza.’
